How it works

About a minute the first time.

1

Start the camera

Open PhoneCam on your computer, sign in with Google once, and press Start camera.

2

Scan the code

Point your phone's camera at the QR code. It opens PhoneCam in your phone's browser.

3

Allow your phone

Check that the code on your computer matches the one on your phone, then press Allow.

4

Pick it in your apps

Choose "PhoneCam" as the camera in your video call or recording software.

Your phone and computer need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. Some public or guest networks block devices from talking to each other, and PhoneCam can't work around that.

Private by design

Video stays local

Video goes straight from your phone to your computer over your network. It never passes through our servers.

Pairing is encrypted

This site only helps your two devices find each other for a few seconds. What it relays is encrypted with a key that is in the QR code and never sent to us.

You approve every phone

A phone can't connect until you press Allow on your computer, and each QR code works once and expires in three minutes.
